The Portable Diagnostic Audiometer is a portable, one-and-a-half-channel audiometer, offering pure tone audiometric testing (air and bone conduction screening). The added depth of bone conduction takes it one level above the Portable Screening Audiometer. It performs tests using TDH 39 headphones, a B-71 bone conduction receiver or optional insert phones. Built-in test signals include pure tone, pulse tone, warble tone, and narrow band noise. Outputs have separate jacks for TDH 39 headphones, optional insert phones and bone conduction.
The Portable Diagnostic Audiometer offers air conduction frequencies from 125 Hz to 8 kHz, with intensity levels from -10 dBHL to 110 dBHL. Bone conduction test frequencies are 250 Hz to 6 kHz with intensity levels of -10 dBHL to 70 dBHL. The Portable Diagnostic Audiometer has a built-in RS 232 interface. Calibration is performed via the front panel and thus simplifies annual service calibrations.
The Portable Diagnostic Audiometer allows printing the results; you can use the audiogram pad that comes with each audiometer to record the test results or transfer test results to a PC through the built-in RS 232 interface.
Two types of carrying case are available. The standard is a soft case with shoulder strap that is remarkably lightweight and has room for all the accessories. A hard case is also available and can be substituted for the soft case. It provides ample storage for accessories and is built tough to withstand the bumps and knocks of daily use. Optional accessories include: patient response switch, audiocup headset, insert phones, sound room kit, and patch cord.
